You Speak Chinese?!

You speak Chinese, Bezet?!

WHY?! (lol)

Are you a diplomat or translator or something?

You are just brilliant!

I... on the other hand... am just an American. I speak only English... and am very fluent in cursing, on a bad day. (lol)

Here you are again... my angel, Bezet.

When Nicky left Israel in 2008... you were the one who told me that she was coming to Poland.

When Nicky left Romania in 2009... you were the one who told me that she was going back to Poland.

And when I thought that Nicky had fallen off of the face of the Earth at the end of this season... you found me here to let me know that Nicky is on her way to China.

And just when I figured that there was no way that I could keep up with Nicky in China with the WCBA website written all in Chinese... you tell me you can read Chinese!

And then you tell me that Nicky is in North America until the end of October!

You certainly have a way of cheering me up, my friend.

I have really missed you.

Now, I must ask you... which Chinese team does Nicky play for? I can't find her anywhere on eurobasket.com.

Does China play in something similar to EuroCup or EuroLeague in Asia?

Which Canadian teams are Nicky's Chinese team playing in Canada... and when do they play?

Now that you have gotten me out of the blue funk I was in... I am really anxious to know more, Bezet. Please tell me more.

Latest news from China/Canada!
.
Dee, you ask me: "WHY?! (lol)"

It's simple. I'm a clever guy(lol) and I knew that you would be very interested to know where Nicky is and what she is doing, so I took very intensive course (18/24 hours) of the chinese language. (lol)
_
_

And Dee, you ask me:

"Now, I must ask you... which Chinese team does Nicky play for? I can't find her anywhere on eurobasket.com.
-------------------------------------
Which Canadian teams are Nicky's Chinese team playing in Canada... and when do they play?"

I had a hard last night, because I was translating from Chinese to English(lol) for you Dee.
And here is the result(lol):

"Cape Breton University is hosting the CAPERS Fall Classic Women’s Basketball Friendship Games from October 21-23 at the Sullivan Fieldhouse. The three-day tournament will showcase basketball talent from around the world as teams participating include the Beijing Shougang Basketball Club, one the top women’s teams in China, the McMaster University Marauders from Hamilton, Ont. and the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack from Kamloops, B.C. This is the first time the Beijing Shougang Basketball Club has played in Canada.

The Beijing Shougang Basketball Club will arrive in Cape Breton on Wednesday, October 19, while the remaining two teams will arrive on Thursday and Friday. The games begin on Friday, October 21 at 6 p.m., when the Beijing Shougang Basketball Club takes on McMaster University. The CAPERS will face Thompson Rivers University at 8 p.m.

Key players for the Beijing Shougang Basketball Club include Zhang Lin, who plays for China’s National Team and Nicky Anosike, of the WNBA’s Washington Mystics, who captured back-to-back NCAA championships with the University of Tennessee in 2007 & 2008 and was a WNBA all-star in 2009."
_

And here is a full schedule of that tournament:

October 23
McMaster vs Thompson Rivers 1 p.m.
CBU vs Beijing Great Wall 3 p.m.

October 22
Thompson Rivers vs Beijing Great Wall 6 p.m.
CBU vs McMaster 8 p.m.

October 21
McMaster vs Beijing Great Wall 6 p.m.
CBU vs Thompson Rivers 8 p.m.
_
_

It's 09:54 AM in Poland now and I'm very exhausted because of hard work I've done, so let me go asleep a little bit now(lol).

Greetings!

.

P.S.
The Forum's clock is late 5 minutes. Is it possible to adjust it correct?

You Amaze Me, Bezet!

Jeepers! You amaze me so, Bezet!

I'm so grateful to hear what you have reported about my Nicky Anosike.

It's been a few weeks since I called her "MY" Nicky Anosike. She seems to have changed quite a bit. And I haven't figured out if that's for the best yet.

All I know is that Nicky only showed glimpses of her former self on the court this season... on the offensive end of the court.

I want to know where her focus is... what HER primary concerns are regarding her career.

I wish so many great and wonderful things for her... mainly because I've always loved her earnest, honest, hard-working, humble, christian demeanor.

I like the person behind the name she has created for herself... therein lies a sweet and decent little girl. And I just love that little girl, Bezet! And I thank you for reminding me of that.

It is chilly and rainy here today. And it is easy to get down in the dumps about stuff. But now, you have lifted me up.

Now... about that Chinese team that Nicky plays for. Why is it not listed on the eurobasket.com website? The men's version of that team is listed... with Stephon Marbury and Randolph Morris... the Shougang Ducks. But where are the women listed?

I don't mean to exhaust you, my friend... but you are my Godsend... on such a dreary day in America.

But Bezet... I do not know if I can reset the clock in this forum. It only allows me to say which GMT I would like. This forum is Italian-run.

But I will work on the dark background. I just hope that I don't end up deleting the entire forum... again. Ojej! (lol) But I'll try.

.
Good afternoon, Dee.

I write absolutely seriously now, without any "(lol)"s.

I'm not sure, but I think that the Eurobasket website - concerning women basketball in China - wasn't updated since the end of August. That's why Nicky is not listed on the Beijing team roster.

If you are interested the news of the Nicky's Canadian tournament, try to use this link:
www.cbu.ca/news

And to find out when the Chinese Women Basketball League begins and what is the schedule of the 2011/2012 season,
please take (copy) this link:
www.cba.gov.cn/show.aspx?page=3&id=9207&cid=47 ( it shows the all schedule 2011/2012 season, in CHINESE language)

and then:
1) paste that link into the left window of translate.google.com
2) choose chinese language [translate from .... ]
3) choose english language [translate to ... ]
4) push the "Translate"

In Poland (in Gorzów) it works. I hope that in Kentucky too.

Good morning, Dee.

Dee, Today morning I had the same result like you (page not found).

Try to use such trick: after pasting the web address to the translate.google, the first choose translate from Chinese to Polish. If the result will be correct, do change in the window "translate to ..." a target language from Polish to English and then push "Translate" again.

I hope it will help.

This message you quoted in the polish language it is a standard Microsoft message (it's the same text as you previous quoted in English).

Hmm, it seems that they (= the Chinese authorities) really block access to servers in China, when the computer has a american IP.

Nicky's first game in Canada
.

Beijing - McMaster 80 : 59

" ..... In the opening game of the three-day event, the Beijing Great Wall of Beijing, China cruised to victory over the Marauders from Hamilton, Ont.

Nicky Anosike showed why she was a back-to-back NCAA champion with the University of Tennessee and an WNBA all-star. She led the Great Wall with 20 points and owned the glass with 19 rebounds. She also went a perfect 8-for-8 from the field. .... "

Thanks, Bezet!

I was quite surprised to hear that Nicky shot so well from the field in Canada this week.

Why couldn't she do that in the WNBA all season long?

It's just a shame that ideologies and politics have to get in the way of American fans following the WCBA in China.

But I hope that this China experience is a good one for Nicky... like Poland was for her when she first left Israel in early 2009.

Coach Dariusz was exactly what Nicky needed to get in the best physical condition of her career. And he valued her defense as much as he valued her offense. It was a perfect fit for Nicky. She thrived there.

Romania and Spain were a waste of time for Nicky. She wasn't able to work on her game in any of those places. And their coaching staffs didn't have much to offer Nicky in the way of instruction and development.

While I don't like that Nicky is where I can't easily follow her progress... I do like that she is with a competitive team in China.

Bezet... do you know what other American players are in China?

Well... I had a busy weekend. This coming weekend... we will be preparing for our big Halloween Trick Or Treat Safe Zone for the underprivileged children in this area. It is an event that has really grown. Then... we are having to gear-up for catering Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for some of our customers for the holidays. We'll be hickory-smoking and baking lots of turkeys and hams.

So, I'm trying to rest-up for a day or two to get myself ready.

And I can't thank you enough for being my own personal sportscaster for Nicky Anosike news, Bezet. It gives me something to look forward to.

You know... whitedudeluvswnba (Trev) found my Facebook page (Dee Original) and he leaves messages from time to time. But I told him I don't check my Facebook very often. So, we kinda hit and miss each other with our messages.

I'm so glad you found me here, Bezet. This is where I come to hangout... for my sanity. (lol)

Dee, I still can't believe that you don't have an access to the chinese websites.
Try this. Instead of "translate.google", try use the Microsoft translating service (if you have the Windows system).

My computer's system is Windows 7. If I do the right-clic (of the mouse) on the "chinese website link", I can see the menu with an option "Translate using the Bing". Then I show (indicate) this option and I can see a little window where I can choose a target language of the translation. And it works perfectly.

Dee, I have no a special knowledge about the American players overseas. I use the common well-known websites concerning the women basketball. And nothing more.

And now the news from the big-money world. (lol)

"Lauren Jackson is one of Canberra's highest paid sportspeople after finalising a $1million deal to play in the WNBL for three of the next four seasons.
In the richest deal in the league's history, Jackson will return to the Canberra Capitals line-up for the 2012-13, 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons.

The WNBA Is Losing Its Swagger!

Bezet... every year it seems like some big name player in the WNBA just chooses not to play in the WNBA.

And no matter how the fans try to shake off the fact that these players are choosing to do other things... instead of playing in the WNBA... it's becoming more and more apparent that the WNBA is losing its swagger with its primetime players.

Just stop and think about what you're saying, Bezet... Seattle Storm superstar center Lauren Jackson, a 3-time WNBA MVP and a 2-time WNBA champion... is opting NOT to play in the WNBA for the next few years. What does that say about the WNBA?

A couple of years ago, San Antonio superstar point guard Becky Hammon left her WNBA team for two weeks... right in the middle of the season... to play for Russia overseas.

Atlanta Dream starting post players Sancho Lyttle and Erika De Souza did the same thing this season... leaving in the middle of the season to join their country's team overseas for a week or two and then returning to the WNBA.

And yet... Connecticut Sun star forward Sandrine Gruda didn't even bother to show up for the 2011 WNBA season. She stayed in Europe... right along with American players like New York Liberty starting center Janel McCarville and Chicago Sky forward Mistie Williams.

It seems that the WNBA's high demands and low pay has finally caught up with it. And the players are no longer willing to put the WNBA's needs ahead of their own.

Money talks. And the WNBA just hasn't had much to say in that regard.

Nicky Anosike didn't do very well in her first game in China. She can definitely do better.

But is her team one of the best teams or one of the worst teams in China?

EuroBasket.Com Finally Updates Chinese League Info!

Finally! The eurobasket.com website has updated its information for the women's Chinese league.

And Nicky Anosike's picture is there... with the Beijing The Great Wall!

After the season-opener... Nicky leads the league in blocks... with 6, as you reported. And she is 7th in the league in rebounding... with 10, as you reported.

There are only 10 players in the Chinese league from America... one Japanese... and one Korean.

And all ten Americans are centers. The only ones I recognize are Nicky, Chante Black and Lindsay Taylor. Remember her?

Much Better, Nicky!

Well, Bezet... Nicky Anosike's second game in China is much better than her first... 10 points, 16 rebounds and a block.

But I wonder what's up with her field goal shooting? She was 1-7 from the field in the first game and 1-7 from the field in the second game, as well.

The Chinese centers are much taller than Nicky and she is going to have to use her quickness and finesse to get open on her shots... with head fakes and up-and-unders.

I hope... now that Jennifer Gillom is available... Nicky will be able to hookup with her to work on her jumpers. Jennifer is the one who helped to develop Nicky's offensive moves and baby j's. Nicky could use a little tweaking on the offensive end to build her confidence back up.

And I hope that the Washington Mystics give Jennifer Gillom a real good look to coach the Mystics next season. Trudi Lacey should be gone. If the Mystics keep Lacey, then Nicky may be headed for trouble next season.

Hey... Swin Cash is playing in China, too!
