Italians Are Great People!

What I have learned about Biella, Italy... I simply love!

The men are warm, friendly gentlemen. And they have been so helpful and patient with me as I stumble through my Italian translations in an attempt to understand them and join in their conversations.

For example... I entered a basketball forum for Angelico Biella fans... all men. I cannot speak, read or write Italian. So, I wrote all of my comments in English... and I used my Google translator to translate their comments into English.

When they realized that I would be visiting their forum on a regular basis... they began to write their comments in English so that I could understand them.

This continued on until one of the Italian fans said that he could not understand English and asked why everyone was writing in English in an Italian forum. I apologized and asked everyone to write their posts in Italian. I did not want to change the atmosphere in their forum.

Then one of the men started a thread... for "ENGLISH ONLY"... just for me.

After writing a brief comment (in Italian) inviting those who wanted to continue their conversations with me to join me over in the "ENGLISH ONLY" thread... I left the Italian thread and started frequenting the "ENGLISH ONLY" thread.

To my surprised... no one has written in the Italian thread since my last Italian entry there a couple of weeks ago. My Italian friends all joined me in the "ENGLISH ONLY" thread. And now they are translating their comments into English just for me.

What a great bunch of guys! I love them!

If these guys are any indication of what all Italians are like... what a great country!
